Fast
Google publishes three speed scores for every page. Passing them will not win you rankings on its own, but failing them loses you visitors who already clicked.
Speed is measured, not asserted. Google’s Core Web Vitals score how quickly your page paints its main content, how quickly it responds to input, and how much it shifts around while loading. Those three measures are Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift. They contribute to ranking as part of Google’s page experience signals, though relevance still does most of the work.
The commercial case is simpler than the ranking case. Visitors leave slow pages, and the ones who leave are the ones you already paid to acquire through ads or content.
