Devika started long before it had a name. Ken Kencevski cut his teeth in his family's business, leading a digital transformation that turned it into one of Australia's top-100 online retailers, and proving to himself that the right technology, built the right way, changes a company's trajectory.
In 2016 he founded Devika in Wollongong, alone. A year later Byron Papanikolaou joined as employee #1, and the pattern that still defines us was set: senior people, one office, everything built in-house.
The work compounded. Westpac named us one of its 200 Businesses of Tomorrow in 2019, we became an AWS partner in 2020, and the AFR Fast 100 followed in 2021. Somewhere along the way the clients changed too, from local founders to some of Australia's biggest banks and enterprises, sitting alongside the startups we still love.
More than $500M has now been transacted through apps we've built, and some of what we learned shipping them became products of our own, including Baseline, and the wider Devika Group of Ventures and Evenness.
Today Devika builds for enterprises and startups alike, with the same goal we had on day one: enabling you with technology, just better at it than ever.
